met with ayul and took car all the way to campsite
cause we too lazyyy to walk up the slope. haha!
then went in and felt quite weird because theres
a lot of senior VIs.
watched the VIs playing captains ball is veryy tempting!
so me and ayul decided to join themm. HAHA!
and so went to the parade square and theyy asked if we want
to playy. YES! hahaha!
so we re-grouped and then played!
it feels veryy weird with high rank VIs and seniors
as your teammate, scaryy. haha!
but they were approachable and friendly and fun people
so its okay. =D
the game is so rough and fast lahh, wahh but still fun!
so after the game, im likee dying already.
so sat at the side and watched the next gameplay.
played snap jack againnnn! haha!
the game is so addictive, now everybodyy is playing it in
the campsite.
then we had bbq. bbq our own foods at our own pit.
its took forever mann to build up the fire and heat.
lucky theres seniors helping us.
took tons of photos while bbq-ing. 0.0
and then we played so called errr 'nightwalk' game
like tht. interesting!
then its latee already, so showered and then chit chat
in bunks with the others all the wayyyy till 5AM morning! 0.0
then we sleep.
3rd jan,
woke up at 7plus AM. hahaha!
we barelyyy wake up lah. so tired.
washe up, had light breakfast and then we took our last few photos
again and then went off to breakfast again at MCs!
hahah. actually dont intend to go lah, but at last changed mind
then followed the rest.
fadhilahh ma'am treat us all MCs breakfast. thanks! =DDDD
chit chat again and... off we go to home!

so, ayul, wanyy and liyana followed me back home because
they dont feel like going to their home. o.o
feel kind of bored la.
so we talk2, hang out and chit chat.
and the three of them sleep! like really snores!
omg! hahaha! too tired i guess.
ohh, dont really snores lah but ya, they slept.

AMANDA'S BLOG.

HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION
October 16, 2009

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos – I know it's been a while since I last gave you the pearls of wisdom you've come to expect from this blog, but it was a break I totally needed. I know you think wisdom flows off my fingertips like sweat from Betty's pits when she's on a deadline, but these pearls are hard-earned, and after my last entry I was coughing up dust (which might be asbestos from my apartment, but whatever). Anyway, I needed to replenish my mind, body, spirit and attitude.

So how did I do that this summer? I traveled, mostly. You know, saw the world, opened my mind and broadened my horizons by soaking up a culture foreign to my own. That's right – I spent a whole day below 14th Street. Okay, so maybe I didn't travel far physically, but let's face it – that part of the city might as well be a third-world country. I won't sugarcoat it – truth is, most of what I see when I go below Union Square never fails to shock, sadden and disturb me. It's a different kind of life down there, a different kind of life. Seeing how those people "live" just really makes you so thankful for all we have here in midtown and the uppers. Like, did you know the grid that makes New York so easy to get around totally breaks down when you hit The Village? It's a descent into savagery, marked by streets that run diagonally, bars that don't make appletinis and people who wear H&M. H&M!

It gets worse. You may want to sit down. Okay. The streets? They stop being numbered. I am not even kidding. Like, when, I hit East First Street, I expected it to be the end of the city and I'd hit the ocean. Makes sense, right? It's kind of the whole reason I wore my bikini down there. Instead, it turns out First Street is in the middle of the city (I also learned people on First Street aren't used to seeing women in bikinis, but let's move on).

Then it gets really confusing – instead of being numbered, the streets below First start getting names that have nothing to do with anything. "Bleeker Street?" What the hell is a "Bleeker?" Or "Canal Street" – how can a road be both a Canal and a Street? Um, question: Hypocrite much? Answer: Yes. And I don't even want to know what kind of neighborhood is on "Beaver Street." Actually, yes I do.

Here's what I don't get – when they were building this city, who was the genius that started the numbering in the middle? Second question – who came up with the solution of naming the streets below that point all willy-nilly? Way to go, New York City planners – you really pooped the sheets on that one. Hey, I have a solution to naming the roads below First Street – they're called "negative numbers," and they've only been around since, like, the 1960s. Stay with me here – think of how easy (and cool) it would be to say, "Yeah, let's meet at Broadway and Negative Third?" And "I love the boutiques on Minus Ten." Or "My apartment's on Neg 18th and Amanda Tanen Sommers Boulevard." What? I came up with this genius idea; I might as well get a street named after me for it.

So what I'm saying is, seeing all these problems – and how I can solve them – made me realize more than ever just how important my perspective is to the world. This blog gives me the chance to change people's lives, and that's why I'm totally re-defecating myself to it. I feel refreshed – no, renewed; in fact, one might even say it's a completely different person who will be writing "Amanda's Blog" from now on. In short, I am so ready to get back to work! Ugh – now if only people would stop calling the Mode reception desk; it is way too disruptive.
